What Would Your Team Say
If You Weren't in the Room?

You're not the only one leading well
on the outside and unsure on the inside.
Every leader quietly carries something like this.

These thoughts are more common than most leaders realize,
and none of them make you less capable.
I received hard feedback
on myself as a leader,
and my first thought was,
"That's not who I am."

That reaction is worth sitting with,
not explaining away. It usually points
straight at the gap between how you see
yourself and how your team sees you.
I'm carrying more
than I let on, and I
feel like I'm the only
leader who feels this way.

You're not.
Most leaders carry some
version of this. The difference is
whether anyone ever says it out loud.
I can do the job well,
but I've never known
the best way to grow the
people doing it with me.

Being competent at the job and
developing the people around you are
two different skills. Most leaders were
only ever trained in the first one.

I track everything and
call it accountability, but
I don't trust my team to lead
without me watching.

Tight control and real accountability can look identical from the outside. Only you know which one is leading your team.
I say nothing because I
sometimes don't know how
to respond when my team
needs direction from me.

That silence was never
about not caring. It's about
never having learned what to say.

The Place Setting Framework for Leaders
A way of finding the one part of your leadership that's quietly working against you.

There are seven parts of how you lead.
This framework doesn't teach leadership.
It shows you which part of yours needs attention.

Which one is standing between you and how you want to lead?
You don't have to guess.

The assessment reveals

Meet Robert
Founder of the Place Setting Framework
Where the framework began…

I spent thirty years building people before I ever coached anyone. From prep cook to president of a division, and every rung in between. Sales teams. People. Years of it, long before I ever sat across from a leader as a coach.

None of that came from a textbook. It came from the table, the one my mother set every day of my childhood while she ran a Greek catering business and cared for aging parents in our home, all at once. She never called it leadership. She called it showing up. That table shaped me more than any role I've held since. I don't think she ever knew she was training a leader.

Today, I'm a Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coach and the creator of the Place Setting Framework, seven elements of leadership built from everything I learned sitting at my mother's table. This isn't about teaching leadership. It's about naming the one part of yours that's quietly working against you, and proving the shift through the people who watch you lead every day.

one on making it stick, so wherever you focus,
the teaching is fast and specific.

Your Great Questions
Deserve Straightforward Answers

A few things most leaders want to know before they begin.
How is this different from other leadership training?
Most leadership training hands you ideas and leaves you to figure out what to do with them. This works differently. It comes from thirty years actually running teams, not a stage, and it gives you one specific behavior to run this week, not a stack of ideas to sit with. Then you get a way of knowing, for certain, that it's actually working. Not a guess. Not a feeling. Real proof.
What if I'm not sure which element I need to work on?
That's exactly what the assessment is for. Six minutes tells you which of the seven elements needs attention first, so you're never guessing where to start.
Do I need to go through all seven elements?
No. The Full Table gives you access to all seven, but you're only meant to focus on the one working against you most. Most leaders are already excelling in several of the seven, so there's no need to work through all of them, just the one that needs it. Once that shifts, you're welcome to go deeper into the others whenever you're ready.
What exactly is a stakeholder in this process?
A stakeholder is simply someone who works closely with you and sees you lead regularly, your boss, your peers, or the people on your team. They're not judges or graders. They're the people best positioned to notice whether a specific behavior is actually shifting, since they're the ones experiencing it firsthand.
How do I know it actually worked?
You'll learn a simple, specific way to check in with your stakeholders each month, the right questions, asked the right way, so you always know where you stand. No guessing. Just your team confirming, and celebrating, the specific shifts you set out to make.
I'm busy. How much time does this actually take?
This was built for leaders who don't have extra hours in the week. Each element has two short videos, and every Play is designed to run in minutes, not hours, inside the work you're already doing.
Which path is right for me, the course, the cohort, or coaching?
The Full Table is the right starting point for almost every leader. If you want accountability and feedback from Robert and a small group of peers, The Working Table adds that. If you want Robert walking beside you one-on-one, that's The Head of the Table.
What is your refund policy?
We do everything we can, within reason, to make sure you're satisfied. Due to the digital nature of the course, refunds aren't issued once it's been purchased, and the same is true for coaching services already rendered. The one exception is the twelve-month private coaching engagement, which carries a results guarantee. If your own stakeholders don't confirm real change over that year, the guarantee stands. If anything about your experience isn't sitting right, email Robert directly at support@astudentofleadership.com.
